Day 01: Start Your 3 Day Lake Mburo Wildlife, Boat & Walking Safari

Your safari with Wild Planet begins with an early morning pick-up from Kampala or Entebbe by a professional safari guide. You will drive westwards through Uganda’s beautiful countryside, passing rolling hills, farmlands, and traditional villages.

En route, you will stop at the Equator crossing for photography, a brief explanation, and optional souvenir shopping. Continue the journey to Lake Mburo National Park, arriving in time for lunch at your lodge.

In the afternoon, enjoy a relaxed game drive as you enter the park. Lake Mburo is home to zebras, impalas, topis, elands, buffaloes, warthogs, and waterbucks. The park is also famous for its rich birdlife, making it a rewarding destination for bird watchers.

After the game drive, proceed to your lodge for check-in, dinner, and overnight rest, surrounded by the peaceful sounds of nature.

Day 02: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Boat Cruise on Lake Mburo

After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive, the best time to spot wildlife when animals are most active. With guidance from your Wild Planet safari guide, you may encounter zebras grazing in open plains, herds of buffalo, giraffes, elands, and a variety of antelope species. Predators such as leopards and hyenas may also be seen with luck.

Return to the lodge for lunch and some relaxation during the heat of the day.

In the afternoon, proceed for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo, one of the highlights of this safari. The cruise offers excellent opportunities to see hippos, crocodiles, and water birds such as African fish eagles, kingfishers, herons, and pelicans. The calm waters and scenic surroundings provide outstanding photography moments.

After the boat safari, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 03: Morning Walking Safari & Transfer to Kampala or Mbarara

After breakfast, set out for a guided walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger. Lake Mburo is one of the few national parks in Uganda where walking safaris are allowed, offering a unique chance to explore the wilderness on foot.

During the walk, you will learn about animal tracks, plants, insects, and bird species while observing wildlife such as zebras, impalas, buffaloes, and giraffes at a safe distance. This experience provides a deeper connection to nature and a better understanding of the ecosystem.

After the walk, return to the lodge, check out, and begin your drive back to Kampala or Mbarara, with lunch en route. You will arrive later in the day, marking the end of your memorable safari with Wild Planet.
