Day 1: Arrival & Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Upon arrival in Kigali, you will be warmly welcomed by your professional safari guide from Abunda Discoveries Uganda. Begin your journey with a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a deeply moving site that provides insight into Rwanda’s history and remarkable resilience.

After lunch in Kigali, embark on a scenic drive to Volcanoes National Park, located in the Virunga Mountain ranges. Enjoy breathtaking views of rolling hills, lush countryside, and local villages along the way.

Arrive at Isange Paradise Resort in the evening for check-in, relaxation, dinner, and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a pre-trek briefing by park rangers. You will be assigned to a habituated gorilla family in Volcanoes National Park.

Begin your once-in-a-lifetime mountain gorilla trekking adventure through dense forest terrain. The trek can take between 2–6 hours depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once located, you will spend one magical hour observing the gorillas in their natural habitat — watching them feed, play, groom, and interact.

After the trek, return to the lodge for relaxation. The rest of the afternoon is at leisure as you reflect on this extraordinary wildlife encounter.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking & Cultural Tour

Following breakfast, return to Volcanoes National Park for Golden Monkey trekking. These lively and endangered primates are known for their playful behavior and striking golden-orange fur. The trek is generally less strenuous than gorilla trekking and offers excellent photography opportunities.

In the afternoon, enjoy a cultural visit to the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village (also known as the Gorilla Guardians Village). This immersive experience allows you to learn about traditional Rwandan culture, including:
