Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park (8–9 Hours)

Upon your arrival at Entebbe International Airport, a professional guide from Wild Planet Safaris warmly welcomes you, briefs you about the journey ahead, and introduces you to Uganda—the Pearl of Africa. We immediately begin our scenic drive toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in southwestern Uganda.

Along the way, we stop at the Uganda Equator crossing for memorable photographs and a brief demonstration of the famous water experiment that illustrates the Coriolis effect. You enjoy lunch in Mbarara town before continuing through rolling hills, terraced farmlands, and picturesque countryside landscapes often referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa.”

We arrive in Bwindi in the evening. After check-in, you relax, enjoy dinner, and prepare for the following day’s unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience and Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

Wild Planet Safaris starts your day early with a hearty breakfast before transferring you to the park headquarters for a comprehensive gorilla trekking briefing. Experienced park rangers explain trekking guidelines, safety measures, and what to expect in the forest.

You then venture deep into Bwindi’s dense rainforest in search of a habituated mountain gorilla family. The trek can last between 2 to 8 hours depending on the gorillas’ movements, terrain, and pace of the group. As you hike through thick vegetation and mist-covered hills, our guide ensures you stay motivated and informed about the ecosystem.

Once you locate the gorillas, you spend one magical hour observing them in their natural habitat. You watch the silverback guard his family, juveniles play energetically, and mothers nurture their infants. This close encounter ranks among the most powerful wildlife experiences in the world.

After the trek, we drive approximately two hours to Lake Bunyonyi, Uganda’s deepest and most scenic lake. In the afternoon, you enjoy a relaxing canoe ride across its calm waters, exploring several of its 29 islands while learning about their fascinating history and local legends.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park and Chimpanzee Trekking (7 Hours)

Wild Planet Safaris departs Lake Bunyonyi as early as 6:00 AM to ensure timely arrival in Kibale National Park. The drive takes you through changing landscapes—from highland terraces to lush tropical forests.

Kibale National Park boasts the highest concentration of primates in East Africa. After lunch and a short rest, you join park rangers for an afternoon chimpanzee trekking experience. The trek lasts between 2 to 5 hours as you navigate through dense forest trails.

As you approach a chimpanzee community, you hear their pant-hoots echoing through the trees. Once you find them, you observe them for one hour as they feed, groom, swing through branches, and interact socially. Wild Planet Safaris ensures you capture unforgettable photos while respecting conservation guidelines.

After the trek, we transfer you to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park and Visit the Top of the Falls (6–7 Hours)

After breakfast, Wild Planet Safaris drives you north toward Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most diverse wildlife reserve. We break the journey with an en-route lunch stop and scenic views of rural Uganda.

Upon arrival, we take you directly to the top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile River dramatically squeezes through a narrow 7-meter gorge before plunging 43 meters below. You witness the raw power of nature as roaring water creates mist and rainbows. Our guide explains the geographical and historical significance of this iconic landmark.

We then transfer you to your lodge inside or near the park for check-in, dinner, and relaxation.

Day 5: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise

During the drive, you may encounter lions hunting, hyenas scavenging, buffaloes grazing, Rothschild’s giraffes browsing acacia trees, elephants roaming freely, and possibly elusive leopards resting in trees. After returning to the lodge for relaxation and lunch, we take you on an unforgettable afternoon boat cruise along the Nile River toward the base of the falls. Jinja sits near the source of the Nile River and offers thrilling outdoor activities. Upon arrival, you embark on a two-hour quad biking adventure. You ride along the Nile’s banks, navigate rural trails, pass local villages, and experience authentic community interactions. Professional instructors provide safety briefings and ensure you ride confidently regardless of experience level.

After the adrenaline-filled adventure, we transfer you to your lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 7: White-Water Rafting and Transfer to Entebbe – Departure
