Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park and Hike Preparation

After breakfast, you will be transferred from Kigali to Volcanoes National Park (approx. 2–3 hours). Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, meet your guide for a hike briefing and preparation for the Kalisimbi Volcano climb, including safety instructions, gear check, and route overview. Optionally, take a short forest walk or birdwatching in the park to acclimatize. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 2: Kalisimbi Volcano Hike and Transfer Back to Kigali

Rise early for breakfast and begin the Kalisimbi Volcano hike, guided by an experienced ranger. Trek through lush rainforest, bamboo zones, and high-altitude vegetation while enjoying stunning panoramic views of the Virunga Mountains and surrounding landscapes. After reaching the summit or a designated viewpoint depending on fitness and weather, descend to base. Return to Isange Lodge for lunch, then transfer back to Kigali approx. 2–3 hours for drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport.
